Stand for Exam

Stand for examination is first introduced during Class session #3. It is a command which becomes very useful when the owner, veterinarian, needs to examine the dog, groom the dog, etc. The command is taught so that the dog remains still while standing for a sustained period of time. Initially, the dog is taught to stand in place by physically positioning the dog in the correct posture, as shown in the photo below. With training the dog will learn to stand on its own without physical positioning from the owner. This photo shows an owners introducing the stand-for-exam their puppies.
