Go-to-Place
This command teaches your dog to go to a chosen location. During the classes, we use use mats to mark the location where we want the dog to go. In your home, you could use your dog's favorite resting spot or perhaps your dog's bed to signify the location where you want your dog to go when commanded with the "PLACE" command. The command is taught by telling the dog "Place" and prompting (with the leash) the dog to place while similtaneously using the outstretched arm pointed in the correct direction. The photos below illustrate owners in the beginning stages of trying to teach their puppies to "Go-to-Place". It's a great command and one that's fun to teach.
